Welcome!!!

Thank you for joining us

North Bronx Thinktank is a research organization, comprised of a committee of concerned citizens and merchants, which was established in 2003 for the purpose of resurrecting a better quality of life in our North Bronx neighborhoods.

The mission is to prevent quality of life decay and accelerate programs through research, education, and communication.

Our goal is to identify areas of promise and provide the funding necessary to make these research projects successful in addressing quality of life problems.

Our creation of the following programs have assisted in advancing the prevention and acceleration of a better quality of life in the North Bronx.

*Bronxites for Parks (2003)
*The Committee of 100 Democrats (2004-2006)
*The Children’s Collective (2005)

2009- A Year in Review

Well ladies and hentleman-it took about 9 months-but now our newest local organization is now up and running. And so are we!.

But sadly, as we enter the close of 2009 into 2010, we look at good but mixed results:

*Economic Development-Since 2001, North Bronx Merchant Association has put forard many economic development efforts to now get The 204th St/bainbridge ave District strong again. in recent years, we have assisted in sanitation cleanups, graffitti removal, holiday lights, and now sadly, assisting merchants effected by The Great 204th st Fire of 2009. Good News: only 20% of the Merchant Strip was effected and we hear (from help with Senator Espada Assemblywoman Rivera & Santa Claus) that the 90 year old merchant strip will be celebrating a joyous holiday after all!!!!

*Children's Safety-NO DOUBT THERE IS A SURGE OF BRONX VIOLENCE-AND WE HAVE ASKED current District Attorney Robert Johnson to put forth his gang awareness team into The North Bronx Areas. Call your local community organization to find out when the next class will be held in your area. Our relationship with The Bronx DA, now 4 wonderful years old, with our club "The Children's Collective" has allowed hundreds of class to be held, keeping thousands of families safe.

*Parks- Yes. we (Bronxites for Parks) met with The New Deputy Inspector of the 52 Police Dept. a Very man who understands the importance of Parks & Quality of Life. Hope, for the finalization of illegial BBQing on Mosholu Parkway?

*Political Action- Well, please go to our newest community club for action, NorthWest Bronx Democrats. In short, they had a hell of a year! From beating Liberty Democratic Association in our first platform, to overseeing the Bedford Park/Norwood landscape, replacing, the crumbling, Committee of 100 Democrats, and expanding alliances-from Baychester to Highbridge.
