North Bronx Thinktank is a research organization, comprised of a committee of concerned citizens and merchants, which was established in 2003 for the purpose of resurrecting a better quality of life in our North Bronx neighborhoods.

The mission is to prevent quality of life decay and accelerate programs through research, education, and communication.

Our goal is to identify areas of promise and provide the funding necessary to make these research projects successful in addressing quality of life problems.

Our creation of the following programs have assisted in advancing the prevention and acceleration of a better quality of life in the North Bronx.

Homeless Shelters on Mosholu Parkway?

At a recent Community Board 7 meeting it was announced by Chairman Gregory Faulkner that 3 Homeless Shelters have moved into the neighborhood-without notification of the board itself!

While Bloomberg & City Government do not need permission from the community board to forward policy goals, CB7, has recently stated that they will "investigate why the board was not notified".

the 3 will be:
1) 199th And Valentine Ave
2) E201st & Briggs Ave
3) Knox Place (Across from De Witt Clinton High School)

IN OTHER WORDS----ON MOSHOLU PARKWAY!. All 3 places are no more than 2 blocks away!

Bronxites for Parks, one of NBT affiliates, just recently concluded a successful NO BBQing campaign we are outraged that public and community leaders have let this slip under their fingers and we firmly support Mr Faulkner in the riddance of these 3 shelters. NBT research shows that in CB7, "Bedford/Mosholu", is only of of 2 "middle class" neighborhoods (The other Upper Norwood).
