North Bronx Thinktank is a research organization, comprised of a committee of concerned citizens and merchants, which was established in 2003 for the purpose of resurrecting a better quality of life in our North Bronx neighborhoods.

The mission is to prevent quality of life decay and accelerate programs through research, education, and communication.

Our goal is to identify areas of promise and provide the funding necessary to make these research projects successful in addressing quality of life problems.

Our creation of the following programs have assisted in advancing the prevention and acceleration of a better quality of life in the North Bronx.

Affordable Housing in Norwood?

APARTMENTS FOR RENT
Decatur Terrace Apartments is pleased to announce that applications are now being accepted for
121 affordable housing rental apartments now under construction at 3322 Decatur Avenue in the
Norwood section of the Bronx. This building is being constructed through the New Housing
Opportunities Program (New HOP) of the New York City Housing Development Corporation and
the Department of Housing Preservation and Development’s Multifamily New Construction
Participation Loan Program (PLP). The size, rent and targeted income distribution for the 121
apartments are as follows.
* Households of 3 or more will be given preference for 3 bedroom units
** Subject to occupancy criteria
*** Includes gas for cooking
**** Income guidelines subject to change
Qualified Applicants will be required to meet income and household size guidelines and additional
selection criteria. Applications may be requested by mail or in person from: Decatur Terrace
Apartments, c/o Highbridge Community Development Corporation, 1465 Nelson Avenue, Suite
A, Bronx, NY 10452, or downloaded from www.highbridgecdc.com/decaturterrace. If requested
by mail, please include a self‐addressed envelope with your request. Completed applications
must be returned by regular mail only (no priority, certified, registered, express or overnight
mail will be accepted) to a post office box number that will be listed with the application, and
must be postmarked by February 15, 2010. Applications postmarked after February 15, 2010
will be set aside for possible future consideration. Applications will be selected by lottery;
applicants who submit more than one application will be disqualified. Disqualified applications
will not be accepted. A general preference will be given to New York City residents. Current and
eligible residents of Bronx Community Board 7 will receive preference for 50% of the units.
Eligible households that include persons with mobility impairments will receive preference for 5%
of the units; eligible households that include persons with visual and/or hearing impairments will
receive 2% of the units; and eligible City of New York Municipal Employees will receive a 5%
preference.
Please Note: (NEW HOP) is a Middle Income Housing Program
Amenities: Underground parking available, laundry room on site, dishwasher and 24 hour security
cameras.
